Rockaway Beach, Oregon
Rockaway Beach is one of Oregon's coolest beach towns. Perfect for either soaking up the sun in the summer or some of the most awesome storm watching in winter. Other local activities include Kite Flying, Beach Combing, Fishing, Sandcastle Building, Picnics, Bird Watching, Whale Watching, Kayaking, Campfires, Hiking, Clamming, Surfing, Horseback Riding, Golf, Crabbing, etc, etc.
This historic beach town on the ocean's edge was established in 1909 as a sea side resort and soon started shuttling waves of visitors via the famous "Daddy Trains" from Portland beginning in 1912. This cute nickname was derived from the abundance of father's taking the trains to regularly join their families spending the summers at the beach.
The area boast great restaurants as well as an array of fun antique and gift shops most within an enjoyable stroll from the property.
This photo was recently taken mere steps from the property (yes, that is the famous Twin Rocks in the distance, just south of the property).
